Primrose Hill Concert - St John Passion, Camden Choir

24th February 2009, 11:01am

The next Primrose Hill Concert will be on Sunday 29th March at St Marys the Virgin Church, Elsworthy Road NW3.

Coinciding with the beginning of Holy Week it is both timely and appropriate to feature a performance of one of Bach's most well known liturgical choral works, the St John Passion. This will be the first performance of a revised edition of the St John Passion translated by Lyndon van der Pump and newly published by Peters Edition. Van der Pump's translation of the 'St Matthew Passion' was highly acclaimed in a recent performance at St John's Smith Square for its sensitive narrational qualities.
